Ahmed and Jyoti are inseparable and have decided to share the rest of their lives together. The couple decides to elope in secret and marry, knowing that their families won’t approve of them because they are each from a different faith. They are now in danger because Vijay Singh Dagar is hunting them down, a brutal mercenary who will not rest until he has “corrected” them.
In October 2020, Love Hostel was first announced. Shanker Raman was the one who wrote the Love Hostel script, and he also planned to serve as the film’s Director. He was very focused on the “questions of heart and mind” while writing and developing the movie. He also focused on the “what our society has become and the solutions we have to our problems”. Honor killings are also featured in the film.
Principal photography began in Punjab’s Patiala district on February 23, 2021. Sanya Malhotra and Vikrant Massey were hired to play the roles of two central characters. Producers were Gaurav Verma and Gauri Khan. The film was a joint production of Red Chillies Entertainment (Drishyam Films) and Manish Mundra.
Bobby Deol was confirmed to be a part of the film’s cast. At first, he was reluctant to join the production. Raman and his crew revised the script to appeal to the actor. He agreed to join the cast after reading the second draft. These changes, according to the director, “elevated” the film’s emotional quotient.
Deol wrote in an article prior to the film’s debut that his character was “a very interesting character with quite a twisting journey” and that his actions were the result of something that “happened one morning that completely changed him.” He does what he wants to do in a righteous manner, no matter what. Deol was required to chew tobacco for scenes in which Dagar speaks and chews.
